Vintage Dragonware (Fairyland) Moriage Japan
Set of six cups and saucers
The dragons really pop on the black matte background within their colorful celebratory scene.
-Moriage is a technique in which the pottery is fired and hand painted with a raised, textured design. This particular pattern is all of an intricate and detailed dragon that wraps around each piece. There is a mystical feel to the painting, as it is further highlighted by wisps of top bright blue and pink paint, along with splashes of gold.
