High Heel Pixie in Pink on a Red Bowed Shoe Vase All Porcelain Late 1940s Dime-Store Figurine

I remember visiting Woolworth's after church on Sunday afternoon. Heading straight for the toy aisle and collecting an ice cream cone out the door. Before I left I would visit the pixie figurines on the home decor aisle.

It seemed to be shelves full of all sorts of delights! This being one example of the Fairy Wonderland!

Circa late 1940 - mid 1950s

Pixie in pink sitting on a high heel shoe with a red bow at the toe. It's equivalent to a 6" inch high heel in miniature! The sweet pixie is quite excited - legs flying high! Did the pixie slip down the shoe like a slide? The all porcelain shoe vase was hand painted and air brushed. Gold detail along the sides of the shoe. Stamped JAPAN on bottom in red. Original Woolworth's store retail tag attached to back of shoe [with "I" denoting the figurine in stock in the month of September].

Exterior measures 3" inches tall x 2 7/8" inches long 1 1/8" wide. Interior of the vase is 2 1/4" inches long x 3/4" inches wide.

Condition: VERY GOOD. No cracks crazing or chips.

This type of old pre-owned porcelain figurines were originally cold painted and the color surfaces are frequently found to be chipped or rubbed off. We suspect that the pink suit of the pixie & red bow were "kitchen table re-painted" at some point in time. The pink pixie left fore leg looks to have been repaired and then painted over. Overall the piece displays very well and a great edition to any fairyland collection. Zoom view pictures for detailed condition.
