This is a yakishime clover mug by Kiyomizu ware artist Takada Garaku.

The front of the mug is covered with a curtain of mouse-colored glaze, and the clover is painted using the itchin technique.

There are five clovers in total. Three of them are green three-leaves.
The other two are four leaves, which are said to bring happiness.
One is pink and the other is yellow and larger than the three-leaf one.

The handle made of braided string is original to this kiln.
It looks delicate and fragile, but the area glued to the body is the same as that of the banded handle, so the strength remains the same.

The rim of the vessel is widened to make it easier to drink from. The inside is glazed with a gray earthenware ash glaze to prevent staining even with yakijime.
The meticulous cutting (I call it "diamond cutting") of the base of the gobo is also a unique feature of this kiln.

Kiyomizu ware is delicately made. The color tone of the four-leaf clover is said to bring happiness.
Please enjoy an elegant tea time with this yakishime clover mug.
