In the north of India, fabric remnants from textile processing are sewn into individual patchwork tapestries in the old tradition. Each tapestry is a unique work of art and a unique piece.
The fabrics consist of old borders, saris, or upholstery fabrics. Partly decorated with elaborate embroidery, the patchwork fabrics together form a colorful, varied pattern.

This tapestry has the main colors yellow and purple, with numerous multicolored applications. The pattern around the elephant shows pieces of fabric with embroidered flowers, tendrils and oriental top ornaments.

The back of the tapestry is monochrome yellow and made of solid cotton.

As a wall decoration, an Indian patchwork tapestry is an absolute eye-catcher. The closer you get to the structure, the more details become visible and the elaborate manual work becomes recognizable.
