A nice antique P. S. Stubs small bench vice, I have included a picture from a catalogue from 1880's (please see pictures), the vice has been cleaned and greased and is all free moving, it does have knocks, dents, top some pitting and general signs of use and age, but overall, for a vice that's pushing 140 years, its quite good, the threads inside the main body are quite unusual in that, they are a separate tube (see pictures) and not "cut into the body", the jaw width is approximately 5 cms (2 inches), doesn't open very wide at approximately 2.5 cms, weight is approximately 1115 g, the main body resembles a hand vice (please see all pictures). There aren't any makers marks to these vices which is not unusual given that these were not actually manufactured by Stubs but outsourced to other smaller businesses and marketed by Stubs.
Beware when handling as the bench clap has some teeth to bite into the bench.
Please check my Vintage/Antique Tools section as I have other antique and vintage hand vices/vises and tools listed.
