Rare Italian Communist Party membership badge for men. Made in 50s (Togliatti era).

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Designed by Renato Guttuso (the famous painter!!) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This emblem was designed by Renato Guttuso in 1953 on behalf of the Italian Communist Party.

Hot-baked enamels, marked "Paccagnini Milano" (produced in Milan by Paccagnini). Pre-owned in good condition, see pictures.
Dimensions: 1.5 x 1.5 centimeters ( 0.6 x 0.6 inches).

The Italian Communist Party (P.C.I. = Partito Comunista Italiano) was the most important communist party outside the Iron Curtain.
It successfully lobbied FIAT to set up AutoVaz (Lada) car factory in Soviet Union, in a new town, the city of Tolyattigrad, named after the Italian Communist Party leader Palmiro Togliatti (he died in Soviet Union, Yalta, a couple of years before).
It was the first party in some Italian regions like Tuscany, Umbria, Emilia- Romagna and in some of the industrialized cities of the Northern Italy.
One of these industrialized towns, Sesto San Giovanni (near Milan), used to be referred to as the Stalingrad of Italy, due to the strong historical presence of the Italian Communist Party and to its resistance to fascism in World War Two.
It didn't survive to the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.

No propaganda. This listing has only top historical purposes.
