These shields bear the history of Africa. They traditionnaly used as defensive weapons and as decorative or ritual objects, a symbol of wealth and status of families.
The black and white pigment designs are superb. The wood engraved with geometric patterns represents the different tribes. The back side has a handle in the center.

They are in very good condition and their patina is excellent. They show minor scratches that only add character and charm.
