Twelve years ago I picked up some tools and taught myself to work with leather. When I did this I stumbled on something amazing - the ability to personalize any leather item with an inscription, coordinates, or a custom image. I love making custom leather pieces and I know you'll love them, too! All the pieces in my shop are my original designs, each made completely by hand. Because I do the inscriptions on each piece myself, by hand, it gives my work a rustic, handmade, quality that you won't find anywhere else. This wallet has an inscription in the handwriting you provide - it can be your writing or a keepsake from a loved one. It's a classic mens bifold style wallet and is dyed a beautiful antique black. The color will darken some as the wallet ages and develops its own patina.
I start with a thick leather tooling leather and cut, brand and dye it by hand. I finish with a protective coat, and hand stitch the edge.
DIMENSIONS: 4-5/8" x 3-1/2" when it is closed (standard size bifold wallet). This wallet has six places for credit cards, a slot for bills, and space behind the credit card slots for more cards.
COLOR: This wallet is antique black and usually some of the tan of the leather shows through giving it a rustic, black-brown look (it is not a true black - it is the color shown in the photo). Because leather is a natural material each hide takes the dye slightly differently so some variation is expected.
CUSTOM INSCRIPTION: To customize this piece just purchase the existing listing and then send me a convo with the handwriting as you would like it to appear on the wallet. The writing must be in a space smaller than 3" by 9" and the best transfers are from writing written with a medium-point sharpie marker. I can transfer other writing as well, as long as it is not too small. If you have questions about the writing you would like to use please top feel free to convo me.
