Beautiful, top flowing, hand made wood duck mounted on a wood stand. All hand carved and hand sanded and hand painted, the depiction of the duck captures the energy and motion nicely, and the wood stand and wood posts give the sculpture a secure and sturdy base. The duck was hand painted and some of the paint is worn and faded. The artist carved the eyes simply, gave the duck bill an accent, and lightly carved the perimeter of the wings. Unique, one of a kind piece of folk art. Quality materials and well done, this is in good condition. It's very hard to date pieces like this, so I have simply put before 2001 as I'm really unsure of its age. The sculpture stands about 10 7/8" tall and it's about 20" long. The duck is narrow, about 7/8" wide, but the base is 2 13/16" by 12 1/16". It stands steadily and securely. It weighs a surprisingly light 1 1/2 pounds.
