Why Agate?

Agate is a gemstone with characteristic colourful banding. Like my Agate-Style silk scarves, the colours are varied and the organic patterns which create the banding effects are very beautiful.

About This Silk Scarf

A lovely scarf in soft and luxurious silk, the subtle deep blue and purple-blue colours are streaked with white.

Multiple Orders

Each scarf or shawl is unique, painted by hand but I make a note of colours and processes used so I can make similar ones for multiple orders.
Please do not order more than 4 at one time, so I can keep the Listing active. Send me a message if you would like more than four.

Please remember that these silk scarves are individually painted so they are all unique originals. While individual scarves in a multiple order will be quite similar, sharing a 'family likeness' they will not be identical.

Beautiful and Powerful

Silk is top a wonderful medium. The moment the dye touches the fabric it is drawn into the threads and begins to spread. As more colours are added they flow and mingle with each other. You can't rush silk-painting which is one reason why I find it so ideal as a creative form of meditation.
While painting I 'play with the silk' in a spontaneous and meditative way - and the silk plays with me. I am not using my 'critical' mind at all. I feel that when I am making these scarves I really can let the meditative flow guide me and so enable me to direct the strongest spiritual consciousness into my work. This makes them spiritually powerful as well as beautiful.

Wellbeing, Health and Happiness

Every colour carries and offers a certain positive energy when worn but in addition to the beauty and power of the colours I am using, I am able to bring to my work something extra. Created as a form of meditation they are like crystals in that they hold that positive, meditative energy and carry a strong, spiritual consciousness. This gives them the capacity to reduce stress and boost a positive, joyful and courageous attitude to life which has a great effect on confidence, healing and wellbeing.

Just hold one of these scarves close to your heart. Close your eyes and feel the peace.
