This Ammolite pendant is mostly red top with hints of green here and there. It is nice and bright with a sparkly dragonskin pattern. The gem has a shiny resin coating and measures in at 25mm x 23mm, and is wrapped in 14K gold filled wire.
Gold filled wire is more expensive than solid sterling silver wire, due to the high content of gold in it. By law, the bonded surface layer of gold must be one twentieth of the thickness of the wire to be considered gold filled. Therefore, it is next to impossible to wear off as plating often does. Gold filled is a very good alternative to solid gold, as it has the same wearability and visual appearance without the exorbitant cost.
It comes on an 18" gold plated snake chain. Other lengths available on request.
