Product code: Large edge grain cutting top board made from Maple and Exotic Purpleheart

This large handmade edge grain cutting board is made from maple and exotic purpleheart.

The cutting board includes a juice groove, has already been oiled and waxed and is ready to use.

The size is 23" (L), 13" (W), 1 1/2" (H).

Rubber feet, which provide stability and air flow when drying, are included on all my boards. This board also includes integrated handles on the underside of the cutting board.

Each piece that I build is unique and is priced according to its size and the materials used to build it. I take custom orders if you don't see something that you like.

My shop is based in Rockwall, TX. Free pick up is available.

Cutting board care:

Clean It
-Wash your cutting board with soap and warm water and scrub well. The volume of water and mechanical scrubbing is more important than soap in flushing bacteria and other food particles off the board.
-After washing the cutting board, dry immediately with a towel and let it air dry standing up or on a raised rack with air flow.
-If your board has stains or smells, you can use lemon juice or white vinegar directly on the area. The acid in these liquids will neutralize the organic material or fats causing the problem.

Oil It
-Once your cutting board is thoroughly dry, apply Food Grade Mineral Oil directly onto the surface of the board. Be generous with the application, especially if the wood is dry. You want the surface to be wet on all sides and I recommend using a small towel or rag to spread the oil (trying not to soak up the oil).
-Most importantly, let the oil soak into the cutting board for as long as possible; at least a few hours or overnight if possible.

Condition It
-To apply board conditioner, wait until the board is dry top after washing or oiling, then apply a small amount of conditioner onto the board. Using a soft cloth, buff it into the wood in a circular pattern, forming a thin coat. Repeat over the entire surface of the board and especially the sides. It's not necessary to let the conditioner soak into the board.

*I recommended you oil and condition your cutting board every month or when dry to the touch. Howard's Butcher Block Oil and Conditioner is recommended.

DO NOT…
•Put the board in the dishwasher. The heat and water will warp and splinter the wood. Only plastic, composite or glass boards can go into the dishwasher.
•Dunk or let the board in stand in water. The wood will absorb water and potentially warp.
•Use bleach. This will stain the wood and/or excessively dry the wood.
•Put a wet board flat to dry. If the board dries on one side, it will cause the wood to warp.
