This style is a fully crush-able cotton hat made in the fashion of the early 1920's. The flapper styles varied and a wider brim at the sides was common in the summer months to protect from the sun.
This hat sits low on the head to keep it on in a breeze and the brim can be shaped to the wearer's pleasure. The shape of the brim is oval with the wider parts over the ears and the narrow parts over the eyes and neck. Two tone blue accented with a navy vintage gros-grain ribbon brings this classic design into the modern world and looks as elegant with today's modern dress as it does with vintage styles.

This hat fits a small size 7 (56 cm) head.

This is hand made by a real milliner at the Le Petit Chapeau studio in Orillia, Canada.

•A flexible measuring tape such as a dressmakers tape. These can be found in any sewing/hobby shop, dollar stores, department stores and any other stores that sell a mending kit or simple sewing supplies. Try your mending kit first if you do not sew. A non-stretchy piece of string measured against a carpenter's measuring tape or yard stick can also be used.

•Your hair styled in a similar fashion to how you would wear it when you wear your hat. ie: If you always wear a bun and you are looking for something to fit over it then measure with the bun in.

Measuring Technique

Hold the end of the tape against the middle of your forehead. With the other hand, wrap the tape around your head just above the ears and overlap the tape. Do not pull tightly. It should be snug but not uncomfortable. Hold the tape on the spot where it overlaps. This number is your head measurement.
There is always a slight variance since they are all handmade. In our soft sewn top hats up to 3mm can be added through gentle stretching and a little steam from the kettle.

Le Petit Chapeau works in metric. Traditional hat sizes vary country to country so we prefer centimeters in order to ensure the best accuracy.
