Beautiful piece of vintage Belarusian folk art with the image of a peasant couple in traditional folk costumes with a horse-drawn cart.
Folk art made of straw was popular throughout the Soviet Union in the 1970s.
Plaque measures 17 3/4" in length by 9 1/2" in height and 1/4" in width. Backing has some scratches from age, and straw is only flaking on one arm of the woman; otherwise, great condition!
