Deep blue color amber are received under special technology by the natural method of heating. The Caribbean or Dominican amber is fossilized tree resin as old as up to 5 million years, however, younger than Baltic amber. The Caribbean amber found in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala and Venezuela. There are deposits of both “young” and substantially older amber found in the huge territory. Nevertheless, it is found in a very limited quantities and the mining is extremely dangerous. The latter two factors are the most important tipping the scale at the limited quantity of fine green Caribbean amber jewelry in the world market.

Whatever is said by different producers, the truth is that the Baltic amber is also hardened in autoclaves, but at a different schedule. There is neither critical nor fake, but just emphasis on properties accepted in jewelry. It's like tempering of steel for special use. A simplified comparison of natural and autoclave hardening of amber is like drying your laundry out in the open and using the dryer.
