A Red-Shouldered Hawk Awaits Patiently for Its Next Quarry--Framed top Original Miniature Fine Art Painting
“THE PATIENT HUNTER” depicts a Red-Shouldered Hawk sitting on its branch on a chilly winter day waiting for an opportunity to garner its next meal. This original fine art miniature painting, measuring only 2-1/2 X 2-1/2 inches (see picture with penny for size reference), is painted in acrylics and matted and framed for hanging, (see pictured example of backing); it can also be displayed on a small easel-back stand. The outside frame measurement is 5-1/2 X 5-1/2 inches; the black frame is wood with glass protection.
Miniature artwork utilizes delicate and painstaking technique that withstands magnification. There are as many brushstrokes on a miniature painting as one that is painted on a much larger scale and therefore takes many hours to paint. I personally use a top magnifier when painting the small details. All paintings are rendered using finest quality pure pigments so that the colors will remain vibrant and true for generations and are painted on high quality surface of museum art board or paper.
A miniature artwork does not require a large space for display. In can be displayed on walls, an easel, a desk, a mantel, or grouped together with other miniatures. Collectors who have filled up their walls with large artworks will still have room for a miniature. Miniatures are often displayed with a magnifying glass nearby for taking a close look at the detail
