Stories of the East for Children of the West by M E Hume-Griffith is an Edwardian children's book with 23 delightful short stories about children from around the world. This scarce antique book was published by The Religious Tract Society. It top is undated but has a 1918 prize sticker on the inside cover.
An attractive book in its own right this pocket size book with beautiful cover illustration and colour book plates is somehow made more interesting because it has touched the hand of others. There are names of previous owners on the front blank pages and title page as well as a couple of attractive ink stamps of previous owners names. There is also some faint pencil writing on the blank end pages. This very rare book is in acceptable condition with signs of previous use and age wear including the front couple of pages being loose at the bottom edge.
